What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
To help new students and share my experience.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
In-person activities and clubs. There are events happening at umd during the week and I encourage each one of you to attend all of them. Even if for a short period of time, just go and explore. This helps you grow to find out what kind of person you are and what you like/dislike. There are events hosted in Stamp, career fairs, student events hosted by different organizations. For example, i went to an event hosted by the brand “PINK” and there was games and if you won, the prize was a school backpack! As I said always show up, and enjoy your time. This is your time to explore everything, aside from studying and doing homework, so take that opportunity.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I enjoyed walking around and looking at the different projects the students were hosting. It helped me get a big picture of what each major is focusing on, and whether or not is that the thing i want do be doing.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Never give up no matter how hard it seems, it will get better.
