Aerospace engineering students typically study abroad in the spring of their sophomore year through several of our exchange partners or the Clark in Madrid program. Aerospace students must complete ENAE202, ENES232, MATH240/MATH461, MATH246, and PHYS270 before the fall of the junior year to stay on track for graduation. **Students should plan to take ENAE202 in fall of their second year prior to study abroad or during the summer after study abroad.**
The ISAE Space Summer Program is an ideal summer option where you can fulfill 3 credits of technical electives while abroad.
You can view study abroad courses that have been previously evaluated by visiting our International Course Database. If you're ahead in your Math and Physics sequencing, studying abroad in other locations is also an option.

- Robotics and Automation (EE4268)
- Laser Engineering and Applications (EE4838)
- General Education Course (not I-series or DSSP)
- DSHU: Minds and Machines (HY3011); Singapore Literature and Culture I (HL1005); Issues in Art History and Theory (DD2003)
- DSHS: Principles of Economics (AB0901)
- DVUP: Singapore Literature and Culture I (HL1005)
Due to the nature of this program, there is a chance that while Nanyang Technological University offers the above courses each Spring, they could have a time conflict or students may not be able to enroll in all of their desired classes. Students should be prepared that they may need to take a summer course after going abroad to catch up.
Exchange or Clark in Madrid Program
- ENES232: Thermodynamics (DIM-SAP-336)
- MATH461: Linear Algebra for Scientists and Engineers (DMA-SAP-131/DMA-SAP-431)
- PHYS270/271: Physics 3 (DIM-SAP-231 and DIM-SAP232)
- MATH246: Differential Equations (DMA-SAP-230)
- ENGL393: Technical Writing (UMD online course)
- Out-of-Major Technical Electives - 2-credit courses must be combined to fulfill the 3-credit out-of-major Technical Elective requirement
