Winter Student Leadership Retreat

Program Overview 

The 20th Annual Winter Student Leadership Retreat (WSLR) will be held January 24th -25th, 2026 (in-person event). The purpose of the retreat is to provide an opportunity for students majoring in engineering and computer science to build their career, professional, and leadership skills; as well as to network with corporations and student leaders from 4-year colleges/universities and 2-year community colleges in the Washington-Baltimore-Annapolis area.

Workshops to be presented include career development (interview tips, mock interviews), leadership development, professional development, personal development,  and a corporate information fair.

Students who attend the following colleges and universities and who are majoring in engineering, computer science, physics, and information science are eligible to apply to participate in the retreat.  The program is open to undergraduate students only.

Students from each college or university listed above will be selected to attend the retreat.  All participants will have to complete the online application, and 50-55 students will be selected through an application review process.  The application is closed.  Persons who are selected to participate will be notified no later than than December 1st.

There is no cost to students who are selected to participate. The retreat will be held Saturday, January 24th, beginning at 8 am through Sunday, January 25th, ending at 5:30 pm.  Overnight accommodations (single rooms) on Saturday will be provided along with all meals and transportation to the event.
