Visit Engineering Day

Description: Visit Engineering Day is an event designed to expose current high school students to the wonderful world of engineering here at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering. The event consists of a general engineering presentation, tour of engineering facilities and a panel with current Clark School students. This event usually takes place every year on Columbus Day.

Engineering Your Future

Description: Engineering Your Future (EYF) are day-long sessions designed to expose current high school students to the wonderful world of engineering here at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering. Sessions consists of a general engineering presentation, tour of engineering facilities and hands-on engineering activities with current Clark School students.  Participants will also engage in discussions about what it takes to be college-ready and excel as an engineering student. These sessions usually takes place on one or two Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM  during the fall semester, with a program registration fee of $20.00.

Girl Scout Engineering Saturday

Description: Girl Scout Engineering Saturday and Keys to Empowering Youth is a workshop presented by Clark School students for Girl Scout troops in Maryland and the Washington Metropolitan area. Cadettes and Seniors (grades 7-12) engage in fun, hands-on, engineering-related activities, learn about professional career options in engineering and science and earn an Inventions and Inquiry Project patch.

KEYS to Empowering Youth

Description: KEYS to Empowering Youth is a science and technology mentoring workshop that provides young girls the opportunity to meet and work with women studying and employed in science and engineering. KEYS offers interactive, hands-on activities that demonstrate the importance of engineering, science and technology and their impact on society.
