What are Recruiters in Residence events?

Recruiters in Residence events offer students the opportunity to engage with a variety of potential employers via workshops, resume clinics, and mock interviews clinics and can offer insights on your best approaches for getting hired.

What is a resume clinic?

A resume clinic is a 15-minute one-on-one employer appointment that allows you to ask a recruiter about your resume, get general career advice, or learn about job and internship opportunities at their company. It is also a great way to network so we would recommend that you get a resume critique in the Engineering Career Services Office first. This way you can impress the employer and maximize the quality time you have with the recruiter.

What is a mock interview?

A mock interview is a 30-minute one-on-one practice interview that allows you to get feedback from a recruiter about your interview responses. Typically, it is 20 minutes of interview questions and 10 minutes of feedback.

Employer-Led Workshops

Each year several employers lead workshops that assist students with their career development. Past topics have included: resume development, interviewing skills, career fair preparation, making the transition from school to work, evaluating salary offers, personal finance, the federal employment process, and professional etiquette.

Why go?

Feedback from an employer provides inside information from the recruiters in your industry. This will allow you to tailor your information to best market yourself to those employers.

What is the appropriate dress?

We recommend business casual attire. You are free to wear more casual attire to a resume clinic but making a positive first impression is helpful in the networking process.
