Technical & Leadership Preparedness (TLP) Program

The TLP Program at the University of Maryland provides a unique opportunity for 10-15 undergraduate students interested in technology professions to accelerate the start of their careers. It is aimed at BIPOC second-year and third-year students in Engineering interested in technology careers, and intends to improve retention rates and create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Students will have the opportunity to engage with CMSE alumni and industry profressionals during the duration of the program. Successful applicants must meet the eligibility criteria listed below.

  • Is affiliated with the Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering.
  • Is available to fully participate in all program workshops and activities.
  • Is enrolled full-time at the University of Maryland College Park. 
  • Is a current second-year, or third-year Engineering undergraduate student.
  • Has a strong interest in technology career pathways and a good academic record. 
  • Is a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Students must meet all eligibility reqquirements before applying. By applying, all applicants confirm that they can participate in daily workshops from Monday, January 20 - Friday, January 24, 2025, and the Winter Student Leadership Retreat taking place on Saturday, January 25 & Sunday, January 26, 2025.
