The A. James Clark School of Engineering takes exceptions to policy requests very seriously. Exceptions are considered only in rare and extraordinary circumstances.
It is the student’s responsibility to submit a clear and concise request. All requests must include supporting documentation for any specific claims made in the narrative. Documentation should provide context and help support the request.
Before submitting a request, students should review all information on this site to ensure the submission is complete and detailed.
Any questions or comments about the Exception to Policy process should be sent to Email Exception to Policy Support.
NOTE: Third Attempt and Exceed 18 Repeat Credit exceptions will NOT be entertained after the first week of fall and spring classes.
Any questions or comments about the Exception to Policy process should be sent to engr-exceptions@umd.edu.
