Keiva Rodriques

Imagine running an international airport. That’s one of the many responsibilities of Keiva Rodriques, Chief Operating Officer of the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA).
Keiva brings more than 20 years of professional experience in program management, aviation, and construction management. She joined the MAA in 2019 as Deputy Chief Engineer in the Division of Planning and Engineering, where she led the planning, design, environmental compliance, and construction of projects for both BWI Marshall and Martin State Airports.
She is also a proud Terp, holding a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore.

Shohini Banerjee

Shohini is graduating with her Ph.D. in bioengineering as a Clark Doctoral Fellow. Her dissertation work focuses on endometriosis, a chronic condition affecting women worldwide.
Shohini has presented her work at conferences including the Society for Reproductive Investigation Annual Meeting and the Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders. She has also served as a Fellow at the Graduate School Center for Writing and Oral Communication.
Active in our campus community, Shohini plays the flute in the university orchestra and trains in Indian, ballroom, and Latin dance. She plans to pursue a career in medical device development for women’s health.

Saanchi Desai
Saanchi Desai is graduating with a B.S. in aerospace engineering and as an academic honors student. Her academic work focuses on experimental rotorcraft research through the Aerospace Engineering Research Opportunity Scholars program at the Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft Center, where she designs and tests a modern interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s Aerial Screw. For her senior capstone project, she serves as structural lead for the SPARX mini lunar rover.
Saanchi has served on the board of UMD’s AIAA chapter, worked with the Nearspace Balloon Payload Program, and contributed to NASA’s Nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project while mentoring younger students.
As part of the Women in Engineering program, Saanchi has worked as a tutor, mentor, and mentor coordinator, supporting students in transition and building community among women in STEM.
