The Maureen Meyer Staff Excellence Award celebrates individuals who consistently go above and beyond to support the Clark School’s mission. Through sustained dedication, innovation, and impactful leadership, those individuals elevate the experiences of students, faculty, or peers.   

Examples might include but are not limited to:

  • Develops and/or leads initiatives with a transformative focus, addressing critical needs within the Clark School with a lasting impact that enhances the entire community
  • Consistently upholds high standards of professionalism and serves as an inspiring role model for others
  • Goes above and beyond routine job expectations by taking initiative and inspiring others to work collaboratively and creatively to advance the mission of the Clark School and University of Maryland
  • Demonstrates transformative and innovative leadership skills by empowering groups and fostering effective change to contribute to the success of the Clark School
  • Develops and maintains positive, collaborative relationships with students, faculty, or staff members to design, deliver, and drive engagement
  • Approaches challenges with creativity and adaptability, using their sustained tenure to implement transformative improvements that respond to the evolving needs of the Clark School

The staff member receiving the award will receive a cash prize of $2000 and will be presented with a plaque at the Clark School’s Annual Faculty and Staff Recognition reception.

Any exempt or non-exempt staff member who has completed 10 years of full-time service in the Clark School prior to their nomination and has never received the award is eligible.

Complete the official nomination form and include a narrative describing the nominee’s achievements and specific contributions. The narrative should provide specific examples as to how the nominee meets the eligibility criteria and what distinguishes and makes them deserving of this award.

In the nomination packet, include a maximum of two supporting letters from any combination of the following:

  • Nominee’s supervisor
  • Person supervised by the nominee
  • Nominee’s peer
  • Faculty, staff, or student who has had experience working with the nominee
