What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
Coming into my freshman year, I knew next to nobody in the Clark School, but ClarkLEAD helped me feel so much less alone and I even met some of my now closest friends. I hope that through being a ClarkLEADER I can help someone be just a little more comfortable and prepared to take on their first semester at UMD.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
My favorite campus organization I am a part of is UMD’s coed professional engineering fraternity, Theta Tau. Additionally, I have made lasting friends and learned so many new things through Engineers Without Borders. Finally, the Maryland Latin Dance Club offers Bachata and Salsa classes that are an absolute blast, and super beginner-friendly.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I loved the Women in Engineering Brunch beforehand, as I was able to chat with other new students and make friends.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Talk to as many people as possible, especially in your major, and stay in touch. You’ll be so grateful when you have at least one person in every class that you can sit with, be study partners, or just complain about your homework.
