What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I became a ClarkLEADER because I'm passionate about helping incoming engineering students navigate their journey at UMD. Engineering can be challenging, especially in the beginning when everything seems overwhelming. I wanted to use my experience and knowledge to assist new students in finding their way, answering questions, and offering support so they don't feel lost or uncertain. Being a ClarkLEADER allows me to make a meaningful impact by easing the transition and fostering a welcoming environment within the engineering community.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Definitely join a study abroad program at some point in your college career. Short-term study abroad programs are great for affordability and not wanting to be away from family too long. I went to Athens in Greece for a Sustainability and Infrastructure course and it was the best two weeks of my life (and the easiest 3-credits I've gotten)!

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
One piece of advice I have for new Maryland Engineering students is to never be afraid to ask for help or ask questions. Whether it's about coursework, navigating campus resources, or understanding concepts, seeking clarification is key to success and growth. Embrace curiosity and use every opportunity to deepen your understanding—it's a crucial part of your academic journey.
