What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
The community within engineering at UMD has been a really special part of my experience here, and I am excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the beginning of that experience for new students this year!

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
The UMD chapter of the American Ecological Engineering Society is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who cares about sustainability or environmental engineering to get involved in projects right here on campus. And to stay active, I would highly recommend our club's ultimate frisbee teams! I play for the women's team, and it's a fun sport and a great community :)

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I appreciated the chance to get to hear about the experiences of ClarkLEADERS and that we got to talk with people from all different majors within the Clark School, which contributed to a nice variety of perspectives in the conversations I got to have.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Don't be afraid or embarrassed to get help if you need it! Office hours, tutoring, and review sessions are all valuable tools that are available to you in your time here. They're a great chance to meet other students who want to succeed in your class and also connect with your professors and TAs for one-on-one help.
