William Trasatti

Class of 2027
Major: Mechanical Engineering

What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I have always enjoyed helping other students. I wanted to make this year's incoming freshmen feel as welcome as I was when I first attended ClarkLEAD.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Robotics at Maryland (R@M) is a club that designs, builds, and tests an underwater robot to compete in the annual RoboSub Competition. It is an excellent club for students interested in mechanical, electrical, software, and robotics engineering. In the short time I have been in the club, I have already learned so much more about engineering.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I most enjoyed being able to connect with my fellow engineers before the school year officially began.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
There are a multitude of clubs, organizations, and events on campus that allow students to explore their interests and apply their knowledge of engineering to solve real-world problems. I would advise new students to make the most of their time at the University of Maryland and explore as many of these opportunities as possible.
