What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I have learned a lot about approaching engineering at UMD that I would’ve loved to know earlier. I love sharing what I know to make other students’ experiences smoother so that they can make the most of the time and resources they have here.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
There are plenty of hidden gem organizations that take a bit of digging to find. There may even be something for your specific field of interest. For instance, the Accessible Prosthetics Initiative organization is creating prosthetics using 3D printing. There is also a Vertically Integrated Projects Program, which offers various interesting projects that students can apply to be a part of.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Don’t underestimate how quickly schoolwork can catch up to you. A lot of course topics build on top of each other over the semester so things go much more smoothly when you tackle each topic with full effort as they come.
