What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I was motivated to become a ClarkLEADER in order to help create a welcoming environment where incoming freshman can build relationships, share ideas, and embark on their academic journey. Engineering thrives on collaboration and diverse perspectives, and as a ClarkLEADER I hope to help foster a supportive community where incoming students can begin to explore their passion for engineering.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
One organization students should know about is the Accessible Prosthetics Initiative (API), where we are working to develop affordable and efficient prosthetics to enhance accessibility for individuals in need. API offers a hands-on opportunity for bioengineering majors, as well as engineering majors as a whole, to apply a wide variety of engineering skills toward a socially impactful goal. I personally recommend joining the exoskeleton team where we are working to create a brace for individuals with cerebral palsy (please we need more people lol)

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
As an engineering student at Maryland, you are going to encounter people from a variety of different perspectives and backgrounds. One piece of advice I would share with new Maryland Engineering students is to embrace this diversity wholeheartedly; not only will it enrich your learning experience, but it will also provide you with the opportunity to make lasting friendships and connections with your peers.
