What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?
UMD is renowned for its strong emphasis on research across various fields of study. I was attracted to the university because of the chance to work with world-class faculty and engage in cutting-edge research projects. Beyond just research, UMD prioritizes experiential learning and offers numerous opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in practical settings. This can include internships, co-op programs, volunteer work, and other forms of community engagement. UMD's appeal often lies in its ability to offer a well-rounded college experience. It provides top-notch research opportunities, hands-on learning experiences, a strong athletic culture centered around sports, and a thriving social scene.

Best Experience with a Class or Project
ENES100 is a class every engineering student at UMD has to take. In this class, you and your group will create an Over-Terrain vehicle. During this process, you will experience all the steps of engineering while being exposed to different aspects of engineering. At the end of the semester, you will hopefully have a working vehicle that looks cool and completes its mission.

Cool Engineering Experience

This past summer I worked as construction intern where I had the incredible opportunity to assist in different stages of construction of a building. Witnessing the massive crane deftly maneuver and place colossal steel beams with precision was awe-inspiring. While working closely with construction workers and engineers to create this intricate structural puzzle. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability in engineering, leaving a lasting impression on my career aspirations.
