What Made You Decide to Attend UMD?
One of the main reasons I chose UMD was its amazing aerospace program. UMD has so many amazing opportunities offered within its engineering department, and there are so many ways to get involved and meet new people!

Best Experience with a Class or Project
The best experience I have had for a class project was in my ENAE100 class where my group got to collaborate with the UMD Nearspace Balloon Payload Program. It was such a bonding experience having to wake up at 2 am and pile into a freezing van on launch day!

Favorite Class In Major
ENAE 283 – Introduction to Aerospace Systems

Favorite Class Out of Major
ASTR120 Introductory Astrophysics - Solar System

Student Organizations/Extracurricular Activities
AstroTerps
Terrapin Rocket Team
Women in Aeronautics and Astronautics (WIAA)
FIRE The First-Year Innovation & Research Experience

Favorite On-Campus Event
My favorite on-campus event is the farmers markets that take place at Tawes Plaza on Wednesdays! They always have such amazing local goods to check out featured from producer-only local vendors from within 250 miles of College Park. Every farmer and producer selling at the market grows or makes what they sell themselves!

Favorite Research or Study Abroad Experiences
I haven’t gone abroad yet, but I am headed to Madrid for a semester abroad soon and I’m super excited about it!

Cool Engineering Experience
A cool engineering experience I have had was being able to connect all the skills I have learned from my engineering classes and apply them to my research project for my Project Greenhouse FIRE class to build a methane sensor and detect emissions across different buildings on campus.
