Pre-Major Information Session for Biocomputational Engineering
Thursday, December 5, 5:30-6:30pm
University of Maryland, College Park, Fishell Department, Room 3104 AJC
Join us for the Biocomputational Engineering Information Session, an in-person info session for BCE pre-majors, and UMD prospective students. Our BCE students at Shady Grove believe in building a foundation of data-driven ethics and technical ability that will tackle the computational biomedical challenges facing society. STEM is a mission-driven field, and our BCE students are using their passion and skills in biology, mathematics, and coding to improve global health care, and ease human suffering.
Our curriculum offers in-depth, technical course work that gives students flexibility and variety in their learning. Biocomp classes offered in our state-of-the-art facilities tackle real-world issues, and use new diagnostic technologies for the research and prevention of disease.
Students post-graduation can expect to enter a competitive career pathway, with salaries starting at $90,000/yr! There are also numerous specialized labs, and maker spaces at USG, to fully flesh out creativity, and learn more about entrepreneurship, graduate school, and how to capitalize on your goals in the third largest STEM cluster in the country!
