FDA-Supported Center to Hold CERSI Day, September 5

CERSI Day, the annual showcase event for the University of Maryland’s new Center for Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation (CERSI), will be held September 5, 2012, on UMD's College Park campus in the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building, Rooms 1107 and 1111. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The event is free, but registration is required. Register online now.

Funded by a grant from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the CERSI is a collaborative initiative between the University of Maryland College Park and Baltimore campuses that focuses on the science of developing new tools, standards and approaches to assess the safety, efficacy, quality and performance of FDA-regulated products in an effort to help modernize and improve the ways drugs and medical devices are reviewed and evaluated.

CERSI Day will include talks from FDA Chief Scientist Dr. Jesse Goodman and industry representatives, as well as poster presentations by University of Maryland researchers. The event is free, and lunch will be provided.  The afternoon agenda will consist of closed-door sessions that will be open only to FDA and UM researchers, CERSI Advisory Panel members, and CERSI Industrial Consortia members.

A complete CERSI Day agenda is available here [pdf].
