Society needs great engineers. We believe that anyone who wants to serve society through engineering should have that opportunity.

Society faces a complex and evolving set of challenges: ethical and impactful use of artificial intelligence; modernizing energy storage and distribution systems; health care solutions that are accessible, affordable, and personalized to the patient are examples. There are many more. In addition, the public wonders about the value of science, and has a lack of understanding of engineering’s unique and essential role in society.

Terp engineers are solving those challenges, and doing so by learning from each other’s voices and ideas.

In our community, we benefit from everyone’s unique perspectives and celebrate our successes. We learn to work in teams because great engineering is collaborative. We actively grow our community through engagement, events, and recognizing history and heritage months. Our community makes us who we are, and we look forward to connecting with you inside and outside the classroom.

We are Terrapin Strong, and we value your input as we work to strengthen our Maryland Engineering ecosystem so everyone can thrive.
