Intel offers comprehensive co-op/internship experiences at its Massachusetts Microprocessor Design Center (MMDC). The program will be discussed in some detail during this session. The MMDC team in Hudson, Massachusetts, has a rich history in microprocessor design. While part of Digital Equipment Corp, Compaq, and HP, the MMDC team designed several generations of VAX and Alpha microprocessors. As part of Intels Digital Enterprise Group, the MMDC team is presently responsible for the development of next generation multi-core Itanium and Xeon microprocessors for high end servers. MMDC is actively hiring EE/ECE/CS undergraduate students as co-ops in the areas of circuit design, validation, architecture, logic design, test technology, and design automation.
Intel provides a generous moving and housing stipend.

The session will also include a discussion of career planning and professional development strategies for undergraduates. Students have the opportunity to ask questions about how best to best prepare themselves for the profession and job market during their undergraduate years. Possible topics for discussion include the importance of gaining real-work experience through co-ops and summer internships experiences and marketing oneself to employers after graduation.
