The Mechanical Engineering Development Program (MEDP) is a full time employment position which will show you the steps to develop professional power tools at Black & Decker, the world leader in power tools. This unique program offers new graduates an opportunity to work with the various product development engineers within our headquarters and design center located in Towson, Maryland. This site is also the world headquarters for Black & Decker, which also owns the Porter-Cable, Delta, and Vector power tools.

Program participants will receive extensive training and direct work experience in all aspects of the power tool development process and rotating job assignments, which can include:

NEW PRODUCTS DESIGN

MANUFACTURING SUPPORT

QUALITY / SIX SIGMA

SOURCING

RELIABILITY / TESTING

MOTOR DESIGN

VALUE IMPROVEMENT ENGINEERING

This program offers flexibility…the rotations are tailored to the participants’ talents and the needs of the business.

We are seeking strong technical skills, high energy, problem solving, hands-on, high creativity and results-driven individuals with a passion for product design.
