What inspired you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I thought it would be nice to be a ClarkLEADER to show that UMD not only has a significant engineering Muslim population, but also to emphasize how the engineering community at Maryland is very diverse and welcoming to people of different backgrounds.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Engineering in general is hard. The learning style, material, and environment are new for many people. The key is to put in the work and take advantage of the plethora of resources UMD engineering has to offer. And don't ever think you are the only one struggling, because you're not. Make friends in your classes and work together to succeed.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you are involved with on campus?
I'm in the Quest Honors Program and I am also in the FIRE Research Program.

What is a cool engineering experience you've had?
I think one of the coolest experiences I've had at Maryland was touring a Bioengineering lab in the AJC building. It was amazing seeing 3D bioprinters and looking at human stem cells for the first time.
