What inspired you to become a ClarkLEADER?
ClarkLEADERS helped me a lot during the ClarkLEAD event. I’m a first-generation college student and was in need of advice. Everything about college was never heard of for me but the ClarkLEADERS helped me feel confident and guided me throughout the event. I want to help other students navigate and feel confident to be in the Clark School.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I enjoyed most the personal stories and one-to-one conversations I had with the ClarkLEADERS. It gave me hope to hear their stories of success and also security to hear that even though they struggled, there’s a community ready to help.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Don’t feel overwhelmed or insignificant in this school. You are going to accomplish those great things that you set your mind on and work towards to. These years of study and so much learning is a journey that will most definitely be worth it. Keep on going and don’t forget why you are doing this.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you are involved with on campus?
I’m part of the UMD skate Club and WeSkate club.

What is a cool engineering experience you've had?
The Intro to Engineering class (ENES100) was a completely different experience than a regular class. I learned so much through this hands-on project which you aren’t given blueprint instructions on, it’s all lead by yourself. The teamwork and engineering skills you develop as you’re working on the project is surreal.
