What inspired you to become a ClarkLEADER?
Transferring to UMD can be daunting. Looking around the other transfer students, there were not many like me, older and with a family. I feel it is necessary to showcase the diversity of the student population as early as possible.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I liked meeting people, in a more social environment, that I would see around campus. It was nice to have people in classes that I already knew. But it was also nice to just have some people who I would see walking around and get to take a moment to catch up and see how each other is doing.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Please do not procrastinate! It may seem easy to do, since most classes do not give daily homework. But when four classes all have assignments with a Friday deadline, you're going to wish you had finished some earlier in the week.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you are involved with on campus?
I am a part of  Terp Vets.

What is a cool engineering experience you've had?
I spent 21 years working in the engine rooms of Navy submarines and ships.
