What inspired you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I was a 2022 ClarkLEAD participant and I valued the experience of the previous ClarkLEADERS sharing their own experience in the Clark school. It had an impact on my perception as I was getting into engineering so I wanted to impact someone the same way!

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I enjoyed the effort to promote diversity and inclusion in a field that has historically excluded people with marginalized identities. I liked the short films that were shown to us which gave me a broader perspective on how to create inclusive environments in engineering.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
To new Maryland Engineering students, I would encourage them to push through however difficult this major and the classes may get the hard work will pay off as long as you take the time to readjust yourself to new ways of learning, find out the best way you learn and find your own study groups and study routines that work for you.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you are involved with on campus?
2022 LSAMP Bridge cohort, National Society of Black Engineers, Sister to Sister, Flexus- WIE

What is a cool engineering experience you've had?
Throughout the rigorous course of ENES100, I really enjoyed the real hands-on experience I was able to get with programming, robotics and real engineering design. It opened my eyes to see what else came with engineering especially since I hadn't been exposed to it like the majority of people in my class had been.
