What inspired you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I have really enjoyed the people that I have met and the experiences that I have been a part of through the Clark school, and I'd like to help share those experiences with new students and help give them a sense of place and welcome within the Clark school. I'd like to be a part of helping new students feel comfortable making friends and exploring all the possibilities that the Clark school has to offer.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Don't be afraid to talk to professors or go to office hours! I got my research position by meeting with a professor to chat about research, and I have established good relationships with other professors that have helped me feel at home in the engineering school.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you are involved with on campus?
I am heavily involved in Engineers Without Borders (current president), and was formerly treasurer in The Beekeeping Club. I founded a chapter on campus of an organization called Isla Urbana, but unfortunately membership struggled so the chapter had to close. I am also a University Honors student, an Engineering Honors student, and part of the QUEST Honors program. In addition to clubs and programs, I am on two different research projects in the Civil Engineering department. I am also part of Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon, which are both engineering honor societies.

What is a cool engineering experience you've had?
This past spring break I got to travel to Uganda with Engineers Without Borders, and it was a really wonderful and eye-opening experience. There's so much that you can learn to help inform your engineering designs from visiting a community and speaking with them/touring the site where you will be working, and I had an incredible time.
