What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I am excited by the opportunity to work with new students, share information, and alleviate some of the stresses involved in transitioning to college.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
One club in which I am heavily involved is SCALE (Science Competitions Advocating for Learning Equity). We are a club that sets up and organizes science competitions in elementary schools to encourage students with a passion for STEM. It is a very cool and niche opportunity and I encourage new students to join.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?

  1. Take a deep breath and assess each task before starting to complete it.
  2. When you are trying to organize all the information UMD has through all of its various websites. I would encourage you to first look through them without a specific goal in mind. This way you aren't stressed to find a specific piece of information later on when you desperately need it.
