What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I wanted to become a ClarkLEADER to give back to the engineering community by helping new students feel included as a Maryland Engineer. When I was a first-year student, ClarkLEAD allowed me to meet other students and also connect with my upperclassman mentor!
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Talk to the people in your classes, especially in your intro ones like ENES100. Everyone is starting their first semester same as you and you can form study groups really easily for your harder classes!
What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Get involved in undergraduate research, no matter your major! Email your professors who you take a class with or cold email professors whose labs you're interested in working in. It's great experience and a good addition to your resume.
If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I enjoyed connecting with other first-year students and I still know some of the people that sat at my table the first weekend I was on campus!
