Corporate entities and private individuals can support Women in Engineering by making a contribution to one of the WIE funds. Thanks to support from donors, WIE is able to provide opportunities for Maryland Engineering students to pursue successful STEM-related careers.

The Women in Engineering Strategic Initiatives Fund provides unrestricted funding to enhance programs, initatives, and efforts that advance the mission of WIE. Giving to this fund will make a direct impact on the recruitment, retention and advancement of undergraduate and graduate WIE students. Gifts to this fund will support WIE’s commitment to promoting the role of women in engineering through activities such as leadership development through mentoring and tutoring, technical skill workshops and community engagement.

The Women in Engineering Living and Learning Fund supports Flexus: The Dr. Marilyn Berman Pollans Women in Engineering Living & Learning Community. Flexus is both a residential and academic program, with female undergraduate engineering majors living and studying together in Easton Hall.  Flexus enables students to establish valuable personal and professional relationships with other women in their areas of interest, as well as receive professional mentoring and networking opportunities with women role models in engineering. Flexus students work closely with students in the Virtus Engineering Living and Learning Program.
