ClarkLEAD | A. James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland

ClarkLEAD is an onboarding and leadership experience for new engineering students in the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland. All new Clark School students, both first year and transfer students, are expected to attend. ClarkLEAD will spark conversations around leadership, diversity and inclusion, and teamwork, as well as the importance of these for engineering and engineering design. The program will also provide an overview of the Clark School values and resources.

The goal of ClarkLEAD is to foster an engineering community that is united, respectful, safe, inclusive, accountable, and empowered and open to growth in order to Mpact society.

Engineering Picnic

*It is strongly recommended that students eat breakfast/lunch prior to ClarkLEAD. Dinner will be provided at the Engineering Picnic for those attending the event. 

  • RSVP for ClarkLEAD with your preferred name for your nametag and any accessibility requests.
  • Participants will be provided a code to complete the CliftonStrengths instrument if you have not already completed it or cannot find your Strengths report.
  • Complete any handouts provided to you prior to the event.
  • Your University of Maryland ID card
  • A list of your top five strengths (either hard copy or accessible on your phone/tablet)
  • An internet capable phone or tablet
  • Completed handouts
