BIOE Mental Wellness + Ice Cream Break
Monday, May 16, 2022
12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
A. James Clark Hall Plaza (near Engineering Drive)
301 405 3936
The Fischell Department of Bioengineering Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee invites all BIOE students, faculty, and staff to take a mental break – and enjoy some ice cream! – on Monday, May 16, anytime from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., outside the front entryway of A. James Clark Hall by Engineering Drive. In the event of inclement weather, we’ll enjoy our break in the Clark Hall 3rd Floor conference room.
Recognizing the stress of final exams – and that May is Mental Health Awareness month – the DEI committee invites all bioengineering students, faculty, and staff to enjoy this break with friends, classmates, and colleagues.
To help one another – and to mark Mental Health Awareness month – we also invite you to join us in taking part in the NIH Wellbeing Campaign. Through this campaign, the NIH has asked the broader community to share tips for self care. We’ll have signs on hand – and markers – so you can answer the prompt “I take care of myself by…”
Those who are interested in taking part in the social media campaign will have their photo taken and will have the option to share it with the NIH for inclusion in their forthcoming Wellbeing Campaign video. (For a sneak peek, here’s what their “I Believe campaign” video looked like.) In addition, anyone who participates will have the option to have their photos/self-care tips displayed in the monitors in A. James Clark Hall if they wish.
All are welcome and encouraged to stop by for a sweet break – and perhaps even a surprise visit from some furry friends!
