What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I have already had such a great time in the A. James Clark School of Engineering. I have had so many helpful teachers, made so many new friends, and learned a lot in my first year. I was motivated to become a ClarkLEADER because I want to help the incoming class navigate a successful and memorable first year here, at the University of Maryland: College Park.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
I am in our university's chapter of International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM); a club where we design a solution to a real-world problem using synthetic biology. I also love playing intramural sports, such as flag football, through IMLeagues and crocheting in Crocheting for a Cause.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
I would advise new Maryland Engineering students to reach out to others and make connections. Friendships will help to lower stress levels and increase overall happiness. I know it's nerve-wracking to start a conversation with a stranger, but the more often you do it, the easier it'll get and you'll make great friends along the way.
