While many international students refer to their resume as a "CV", in the U.S. a resume and CV have notable differences. A resume is a 1-2 page document which includes your most recent and relevant achievements to submit to positions in industry. A CV is a more inclusive, lengthier document used for applications to positions in research and academia. Below are resources for helpful guidance.

  • Watch our How to Write a Winning Resume Playlist. This is an on-demand recording of our Resume Workshop, which answers many common questions.
  • Read through our Resume Handout. Pay particular attention to pages 5 and 6 to learn how to write strong bullet points and see a list of helpful verbs to start your bullet points with. Look through sample resumes , beginning on page 13, for inspiration on how to organize your resume.
