The Center for Risk and Reliability (CRR) had the pleasure of hosting stakeholders from Kyushu University, AIST (Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), and the Fukushima Institute for Education and Innovation. The visit fostered meaningful discussions on ongoing collaborative projects, including the Department of Energy (DOE) Reliability Database initiative.

A key highlight of the visit was the exploration of collaborative opportunities between UMD and Kyushu University. This potential partnership would strengthen collaborative efforts on hydrogen-related research and student exchanges. The discussions also touched on international hydrogen measurement standards and testing protocols, including insights into hydrogen station evaluations conducted in California relevant to AIST and Japanese standards. This visit marks a significant step toward expanding global research collaborations, reinforcing UMD’s commitment to advancing reliability engineering and fostering innovation in hydrogen technologies.
