What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
When I was a first-year student, I remember how comforting it was to meet people who made the Clark School feel a little smaller and more personal. Being part of ClarkLEAD helped me feel less nervous and more excited to start college. I am excited to help new students feel that same sense of support and community as they begin their journey.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek help early on—whether it’s from professors, TAs, or your peers. Everyone here wants to see you succeed, and building those connections early can make your experience much smoother and more enjoyable.
If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I loved how welcoming it felt. I got to meet other freshmen who were just as nervous and excited as I was, and it was really helpful to hear from upperclassmen who had already been through it. It made me feel like I wasn’t alone and that I had a place in the Clark School.
