What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I hope to share with prospective students the excitement and enthusiasm for Engineering at UMD that I have. I remember how anxious I was to take college level math, science, and engineering classes, to live in a dorm, meet hundreds of new people, and so much more. Its a big transition in life, but one that I hope to make a little less scary for incoming Maryland Engineers.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Don't be intimidated by college classes. College classes are not harder than High School they are just hard in a different way. Use the resources available and don't try to succeed in your classes alone. Find support from friends and peers. It will make life easier, less scary, and more fun.
What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Get involved in your professors' research groups! They are the best way to get valuable hands on work experience in fields related to your intended area of study. All you have to do is ask your professors too. Your professors have devoted their careers and lives to their area of study and they love it when students share their passions.
