What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
Coming into UMD, I didn't really know what to expect since I'm a first-generation student. So, by being a ClarkLEADER, I hope to help new students navigate the complicated road that is college. I also want to share my experiences during the time I've been at UMD and hope that it can provide a foundation to help new students feel more comfortable as they enter a new chapter in their lives.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
One piece of advice I would offer is to join a club or extracurricular activity. It really forces you to get out and meet a lot of people. In fact, I've been able to meet a lot of my closest friends through the club that I'm in, and not joining earlier is one of the few things I've come to regret during my time here. While four years may seem like a long time, it goes by quick, so really make the most of your time here.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Terrapin Trail Club, WindTerpines, and VIP@Maryland (Vertically Integrated Projects).

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
During my time at ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what I enjoyed the most was walking around the student organization and resources fair, which helped me to discover all the interesting opportunities available to me as a UMD engineering student. It was during this fair that I learned about the student abroad opportunities provided to me, and for which I was lucky enough to participate this summer.
