What skills did you learn through the internship?  I was able to troubleshoot multiple systems on the electric vehicle including the powertrain, inverter, battery, on board charger, body control module, and display. This was all great experience in electrical vehicle theory as well as power electronics theory.

Did you receive more responsibilities as the co-op progressed?  As I became more proficient in operating troubleshooting software I was able to complete most tasks without assistance and was given more responsibility than a typical intern or co-op. During my time with Harley Davidson I became responsible for test creation and management in regards to vehicle troubleshooting and software validation. From this I learned how to properly create testing requirements, how to record test results, and conduct testing analysis.

What was the most exciting part of your internship?  The most exciting part of my experience with Harley-Davidson was being responsible for troubleshooting a faulty test cell.

Would you recommend this company/internship to other UMD students?  Definitely.  I have accepted a full-time role as an associate engineer within the Harley-Davidson EV Platform team.
