What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
MaryKate, a fire protection engineer, motivated me to become a ClarkLEADER. I was inspired by her genuine care and the way she created a supportive community where friends look out for each other.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Don’t be discouraged by initial setbacks. Keep trying, sometimes success takes multiple attempts. My lucky number is 4, and for me, persistence often pays off, even if it’s the fourth attempt rather than the third!

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Get involved in cultural organizations, as they’re a great way to quickly feel welcomed and build connections with others.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I enjoyed meeting peers who shared similar goals and the sense of community it created from the very beginning.
