What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I wanted to be a ClarkLEADER to help new students who are either first years or transfer students feel at home at the University of Maryland, and give them any tips I wish I had when I first came to UMD. I would also wanted the opportunity to tell new students about unique spaces or resources available they may not otherwise be aware of.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
I would like to tell new Maryland Engineering students to not over-think what they are doing and trust that they will succeed, and Maryland is here to help make sure they do.
What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
I think new students should look into the national societies available for their major, one example being the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. I also encourage students to have at least one club or organization outside of their major, so that they have a space that can be a break from academics and meet new people they may not normally encounter.
