What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I want to empower other young, future engineers, and believe that such an adventure is meant to be shared. I came from a small high school, so I understand what it feels like to be overwhelmed by such a new environment, and want to use my experiences to ease those of others.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Don't be afraid to ask questions! More often than not, people love answering them, especially academic ones. It gives them a chance to know how much they matter and contribute, along with teaching you what you need to know. Along with that, asking questions reminds you to take an active role in your life, which is important in everything! We have to be the writers of our own story, and showing that you care is a perfect way to start.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I enjoyed the open environment and continual commitment to progress. It was really refreshing to see that. I loved how everything was laid out in a positive lens, as if to say that there is no mountain too high for UMD to climb, and made me hopeful for the future.
