Courses offered through the Clark School of Engineering are restricted to students within the major. However, non-majors are welcome to request a seat in certain courses. Please be advised that permission to register for engineering courses will be based on seat availability.
Seats are not guaranteed by simply completing the forms located at Course Permissions for Non-Majors and permission will be given on a case-by-case basis.
For BIOE120, please contact the Bioengineering Department.
For ENEE205, please contact the undergraduate advising office for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
For ENES472 and ENES317, seats are held for students enrolled in the Global Engineering Leadership minor. Non-minor students should add themselves to the course holdfile and will be allocated a seat if available on the first day of the semester. If you are interested in learning more about the minor, please find information here.
If the ENES or ENED course you are seeking permission for is not referenced here, please first view the Schedule of Classes for information on how to register for that course or contact the instructor of the course. Questions about Keystone Program courses can be sent to keystone@umd.edu

Clark School of Engineering students requesting permission to enroll for ENES courses which are a degree requirement may obtain this permission from their academic advising unit.
If you are an engineering student requesting permission for an ENES course to count towards your electives, please send your name, University ID, engineering major, which course you are requesting, and for what semester/session, to keystone@umd.edu (ONLY IF YOU ARE A CURRENT ENGINEERING STUDENT).
Non-Clark School UMD students and Non-UMD students requesting permission to register for any ENES course (with the exception of ENES100A) must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average at the University of Maryland and a grade of C- or better for ALL co- and prerequisite classes or have AP credit.
