What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
When I first came to UMD, I had no idea how anything worked in a university setting as well as an engineering setting. I had to rely on myself to figure out how everything worked. I became a ClarkLEADER so I could share the knowledge I have gained to incoming students so they can be more informed than I was when I started.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
One piece of advice I would give to a new Maryland engineering student would be to not be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Engineering at UMD can be difficult at times and topics build on the foundational ones. Ask for help as soon as you do not understand a topic so you can understand incoming information as the semester progresses.
What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
I cannot recommend a specific organization or extracurricular that would fit every incoming student, however, this is the value of the First Look Fair. Incoming students should try to attend the First Look Fair when it is being held since it is a way to try new things and meet new people.
