What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I was motivated to be a ClarkLEADER by my experience with the Clark Ambassadors program, in which I speak to prospective students about engineering at Maryland and my time here. I have greatly enjoyed this opportunity, and I look forward to helping guide new students through the next step in their UMD journey.
What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Being a part of Theta Tau, a coed professional engineering fraternity, has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. It has offered amazing opportunities to meet new friends, participate in service, and grow professionally. I am also excited to lead the Mechanical Contractors Association student team this year, a great group for those interested in the contracting industry. We develop a full mechanical bid proposal for a construction project each year and travel as a team to collaborate with other schools and industry professionals.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering students?
Take advantage of the many extracurricular opportunities available at UMD, and explore new interests potentially out of your comfort zone.
