Visit the Clark School

Prospective first-year and transfer students are invited to join the Clark School for virtual information sessions and in-person facilities tours.  Programs are conducted by Clark School Ambassadors, current engineering students within the college, who will be able to answer your questions about the admissions process, student life, and all things in between!

How to Apply to UMD

Freshman students applying to the University of Maryland can do so using either the CommonApp or the StandOut Admissions Network platform.

Engineering is a Limited Enrollment Program.
What does that mean?

Engineering at Maryland is one of the Limited Enrollment Programs (LEP) on campus. Because the School of Engineering does not have space to accommodate all applicants who indicate an interest in engineering, there is a separate, more competitive, review process for admission into the Clark School.

THERE IS NOT A SEPARATE APPLICATION. Once you are admitted into the University, your application will be automatically reviewed by the Clark School's Admissions Committee.
