WIE Home

Program Overview

For rising 9th - 12th graders

This virtual program, hosted by current Maryland Engineering students, was initiated through the RISE Program (the Clark School’s Leadership Academy) in partnership with the Women in Engineering Program. This program, geared toward women high school students (rising 9th - 12th graders) but open to all high school students, provides an introduction to engineering research. Students will participate in experiments that correspond to different engineering disciplines each day of the week and learn about research labs at the University of Maryland. Students will learn how to read and write scientific research papers and will engage with current Maryland Engineering undergraduate students. This program will be conducted virtually, at no cost, and experiments will be at-home friendly!
