What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I learned about this opportunity and was excited to welcome the new freshmen going into the Clark school. I want to share what I know with the new engineering class, giving them the advice that I wish I knew before I started. I also wish to be an approachable and helpful source of knowledge for the students I will be interacting with and to make sure their experience at ClarkLEAD and their time in college as a whole are meaningful and fun.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Make sure you know your goals in advance and figure out a system that will help you stick to them. Whether that is finding an accountability buddy or a detailed but comprehensive spreadsheet, make sure you have a way to remind yourself of what the most important things for you are.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
As an Aerospace Engineering student, two of the organizations I have been involved in are the Terrapin Rocket Team and Wind TERPines. The Terrapin Rocket Team, or Terps Rockets, works on rocketry and competes in the annual Spaceport America Cup. Many of the members of this organization are in Aerospace Engineering, but anyone from any major is welcome to participate. Wind TERPines is focused on wind energy and competes in the Collegiate Wind Competition. Wind TERPines has a wide variety of majors, such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Aerospace Engineering, as well as non-engineering majors like Environmental Science and Business.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I enjoyed meeting new people, hearing about the ClarkLEADers' past experiences and sharing expectations with my fellow freshmen.
