What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
I was inspired to become a ClarkLEADER because of the incredible impact ClarkLEAD had on me as a first-year student. It helped me build friendships, feel welcomed, and gain confidence as I began my journey in engineering. Now I want to give back by supporting incoming students, helping them feel just as comfortable and excited to be part of this community.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and seek help early. Whether it's a professor, TA, peer, or advisor—there is always someone willing to support you. Building connections and staying engaged will make your experience more rewarding both academically and personally.

What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
Some great organizations to check out are the Black Engineers Society, African Student Association, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the different club/intramural sports. These groups helped me find a sense of belonging, build leadership skills, and meet others with similar interests.

If you attended ClarkLEAD as a first-year student, what did you enjoy most about the event?
I really enjoyed how welcoming and interactive the event was. It gave me the chance to connect with other new students, learn about my strengths, and hear valuable advice from older engineering students. It set a positive tone for my first semester and made me feel like I belonged in the Clark School.
