What motivated you to become a ClarkLEADER?
Becoming a ClarkLEADER is a chance for me to share my journey, support incoming students, and help create a welcoming environment. I also see it as an opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and strengthen my leadership and communication skills. I want to be the kind of leader who motivates, encourages, and guides others as they begin their path to becoming successful engineers.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new Maryland Engineering Students?
You’re here because you’re meant to be. Getting into the Clark School of Engineering is not a small achievement, and you’ve earned your place. Be proud of that, but also know that this is just the beginning. Work hard, stay curious, and push yourself to grow both academically and personally. There will be challenges, but that’s part of the journey. No one will believe in your potential more than you do, so trust yourself and keep moving forward. At the same time, don’t forget to enjoy your time here. Build relationships and explore your interests. Make these years count, not just for your career, but for who you become along the way.
What are some organizations or extracurricular activities you think new students should know about?
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Women In Aeronautics and Astronautics (WIAA), Design Build Fly, Terrapin Rocket.
